Prince Desert Camp is what its name says, a desert camp, located quite close to the sam sand dunes. The tents are good and comfy with ensuite bathroom. 3-4 people can easily accommodate in one tent. The stay around new year includes evening snacks, dinner, and breakfast along with a camel ride to the dunes for sunset, followed by cultural program + dj at the camp.
The food tastes good, I won't say great but it was decent, much better than some of the restaurants in Jaisalmer. Winter's can be a little chilly in desert, so better to come prepared with warmers.
The lowest temperature was 3°c when I went - it was colder than I imagined. Even after that we did a little adventure walk to the dunes in the dark with a torch on hand, it was super cold but so beautiful and peaceful. Worth the chills. But this is a more touristy type of camp, there are other off-beat camps which I would have loved to try but unfortunately due to new years it was all sold out. Overall, a great experience for a newbie in desert. Looking forward to a much more adventurous one next time.
This was a very fine camp. The evening was pleasant. We had taken a deluxe tent. They also have standard and super deluxe category but I was told that even standard tents are very good. The food is same for all kinds of tent and so is the evening program. The staff is very humble and very prompt in service. It would be better to directly call this place up and enquire about the prices rather than through a hotel because they have their own commission.
One of the best tent stays and food at Sam sand dunes, isolated, no disturbances of nearby tents, clean, luxurious feel, responsive and polite staff
